My last Amazon order seems to have mysteriously disappeared. It doesn’t appear on my orders list and never came. So weird. Anyhow, it’s time for another.

Korgi graphic novel. Corgis are like sugar, you can never have enough:

You can’t buy the incredible Beauty Tubes mascara in AU any more :( :( I knew this day would come and I’ve been dreading it. You can literally sleep in this stuff, it’s amazeballs. Anyhow, Amazon has it so I’ve bought 5 packs:

Heard some sweet tracks at goth night on Saturday. Using my awesome information retrieval skills (shhh, I’m a professional), I was able to track some of them down on the Endzeit Bunkertracks compilations.

So last weekend we went to Byron Bay with my brother and his wife. But I stupidly forgot my dodgy old mobile, and ended up having to contact my sister-in-law via mall internet on facebook. Not ideal. We actually tried to buy an iphone for me at the mall, but no one would sell an unlocked one. I had my ipod touch with me, and I was full of buyer’s remorse that I hadn’t just sucked it up and paid the extra for the phone.

So, here is it is. I am buying a phone. I will actually use it and learn my own number. I will actually carry it with me and have it switched on. That’s the plan, although I have my suspicions that I will mostly use it for the mobile armory.

My new ipod is already pretty scratched up. I don’t really care about that, but I probably should protect it in some way. Enter: Etsy!

Thanks to Nick who mentioned on FB that Shpongle are playing in Sydney in January. So. Fucking. There.

Apparently they are going to have a full ten-piece ensemble. This is going to be crazy. Now I get the pleasure of anticipating this for 2 and a half months.

Okay, I’ve finally thought of an excuse to get an ipod touch. I couldn’t justify an iphone because I don’t actually use a phone. And apart from playing ‘harbor master’, an ipod touch wouldn’t actually serve any useful function not already covered better by other gadgets. However, I’ve been listening to a lot of music lately, mostly through my laptop speakers. Because I don’t really have any way of playing music out loud through good quality speakers. Given that I prefer to run a playlist as MP3s, an ipod with a nice speaker dock seemed like the perfect solution.

Shpongle!

I need some travelling tunes. I’d held off buying this album for 6 months because I wanted in on CD, but time is of the essence, and I’ve given in the convenience of the iTunes store.

Nothing beats the ambient, wicked psy tunes of Shpongle. This is my favourite band!

I broke my rule about buying albums from itunes because I couldn’t be bothered trying to find someone to deliver this to me. Genius suggested this to me, one of the first good new picks it’s had for me.

Still need Sounds

I’m still waiting on my German synthpop (I think it could be at the post office … I HATE YOU Australia Post) and that Presets album was full of filler. I need music! My fav synthpop seller is having a Halloween sale. I’ve got no money, but bought some anyway!

echoinggreenwinter

The Echoing Green are a fascinating group with crossover appeal. Very catchy, dark synthpop which also crosses over into the Christian rock market. Interesting.

Ipod still sad

My German synthpop from Russia hasn’t arrived yet, and my ipod is still in need of some sparkly new tunes. I was in my local giant Valley Girl the other day (they do have the occasional bargain gem, I swear), where they usually pump out crappy R’n’B. However, I was amazed to hear a very Synthpop-y track. I was pretty sure it was the Presets, and itunes confirmed my hunch. I never buy whole CDs from itunes, because I am on my third laptop in about as many years and it is pain to get all your purchased stuff over. I prefer to buy the physical CD, and then I can upload it to as many ill-fated laptops as I like.
